Let's Connect!
Photographs for people who feel everything deeply.
Cowichan Valley Lifestyle & Portrait Photographer Earthy, emotive imagery shaped by light, movement, and memory.
Hi, I’m Sheena.
I’m a Vancouver Island photographer drawn to the things that are felt more than they’re seen.
The way your kid still reaches for your hand.
The wind catching your hair.
The person you love looking at you when you aren’t paying attention.
The beautiful mess of a life that is happening right now.
My work is earthy, emotive, a little moody, and deeply human. I’m drawn to softness and shadow, movement and stillness, the imperfect moments that somehow become the ones we remember most.
I want to create photographs that feel like something — nostalgic and cinematic, honest and alive. Images that take you back to a feeling, not just a moment in time.
I’m not interested in making your family look perfect. I want to make photographs that feel like your family. We’ll make space for the beautifully composed images, but also for the laughter, the chaos, the quiet, the crooked smiles, the bare feet, the windblown hair, and everything that happens in between. I’ll guide you when you need it and step back when the magic is already happening.
And perhaps most importantly, I want you to feel safe in front of my camera. No performing. No pretending. No judgement. No expectation that you need to know how to pose.
Just room to be yourself, with the people you love, while I pay attention to the things you might not even notice are happening.
Because life moves quickly.
The babies grow.
The kids change.
The seasons shift.
And the ordinary Tuesday you thought you’d always remember becomes a distant memory.
That’s what I’m here for. To preserve the people you love, the season you’re in, and the feeling of being here- exactly as it was. Let’s create something that feels like you.
How It All Works
Whether you’re booking a family session, couples session, or wedding day — here’s what you can expect from start to finish.
Step 1: Reach Out Send an inquiry through my booking site with the session you’re interested in. I love connecting personally with each client first, so we’ll chat about your vision, location ideas, and all the details.
Step 2: Book Your Date Once we’ve connected, I’ll send over availability, pricing, and everything you need to officially book with a signed agreement and retainer.
Step 3: Prepare for Your Session I’ll help guide you through outfits, planning, and session details so you can arrive feeling relaxed and confident. No pressure to be perfect — my sessions are easygoing and natural.
Step 4: Session Day We’ll move, explore, laugh, and create together in a way that feels comfortable and genuine. I’ll guide you while also leaving room for the meaningful in-between moments.
Step 5: Editing & Delivery After your session, I carefully hand-edit your images and deliver them in a private online gallery.
Turnaround Times: Lifestyle Sessions: 2–3 weeks
Weddings & Events: 6–8 weeks
Your final gallery will be filled with heartfelt images to download, print, and hold onto for years to come.
A Safe Space for Every Human

My sessions are a safe, affirming space for all humans- all bodies, all identities, all love.
Photography is about trust, and it's important to me that you feel able to be your full self in front of my lens. This is a place you don't have to shrink, pretend or perform- just show up as you are- I'll meet you there.
Awards and Recognition
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & ENVIROMENTAL RESPONSIBILTY
I acknowledge, with respect and gratitude, that we are gathering on the traditional, unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) Tribes.
For generations, the Quw’utsun people have cared for this land, the waters, and all that lives here. I honor their deep connection to these lands and recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization. As I work, create, and gather in this beautiful place, I commit to learning from Indigenous perspectives, fostering meaningful relationships, and supporting reconciliation efforts in our community.
Caring for the earth is deeply important to me, both personally and professionally. As a photographer, I have the privilege of working in some of the most beautiful natural spaces, and I believe it’s our responsibility to respect and protect them. I am committed to leaving the land as I found it—no trampled wildflowers, no broken branches, no disruption to the delicate ecosystems that make these places so special. Art should never come at the cost of nature. Instead, I strive to work in harmony with the environment, capturing its beauty while ensuring it remains untouched for future generations to enjoy. Sustainability and mindfulness are at the heart of my approach, and I encourage everyone I work with to share in that respect for the land. Whether it’s sticking to established paths, avoiding fragile areas, or simply being aware of our impact, small actions make a big difference. Together, we can create stunning images while honouring and protecting the natural world around us.
